Santa is somet...awww...what a heartbreaking moment! Santa is something truly special. Katie and Colleen are on the other side this year for the first time and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. But at least I was in control of the "discovery" Poor you. But just to prove that the magic of childhood is not completely over:<br />We were putting out shoes for St. Nicholas day and Katie says to me (away from her little siblings) <br />"Why bother? I KNOW you're St. Nicholas" Now, PJ's mom had sent the St. Nicholas gifts this year; so I looked her straight in the eyes and told her in all honesty, "Katie, I am NOT St Nicholas" She looked at me skeptically and I repeated, " I am not kidding you, *I* am NOT St. Nicholas" and she said "what about dad?" "He is not St. Nicholas either." She processed this for a few seconds and then said "I KNEW there was still magic in the world somewhere!" She's 11 and is ready to be big, but not ready to give up all her belief in magic and whimsy. :) That childish smile on a preteen face just made me all misty eyed. Your boys will always be your babies. Big hugs!Diananoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861838369816800607.post-87769887351542597752009-12-09T10:22:15.874-05:002009-12-09T10:22:15.874-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.I'm not a bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17600489383334376490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861838369816800607.post-67388418940523452322009-12-09T08:13:20.564-05:002009-12-09T08:13:20.564-05:00I just posted about how E gets a letter from Santa...I just posted about how E gets a letter from Santa every year yesterday and your post gave me the goosebumps. Because A and R don't celebrate, I don't want them spilling the beans.<br /><br />I'm sorry too that this happened at their Dad's. I wish you could've answered their questions.Lindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01001887689493380499noreply@blogger.com
